Chris is about to finish his MFA!!! His new film, Liberaceón, which he says is ” a three-channel video installation with a 16 minute narrative at its center wherein I perform as the late great showman himself, Liberace!” It will be off the chain, go see it!! Here is the info for the show:

If you want to see it again (we know you will) Liberaceón will be showing in conjunction with Necrocapital: AIDS in the Age of Surplus Value, an installation Jason Fritz (AKA Joy) and I (AKA Eric Stanley) are doing at the ATA in San Francisco, CA. The film program, “Retelling Stories” will include work by MATT WOLF, MIKE KUCHAR and Chris Vargas and will be on Thursday, May 26, 2011, 7:00 pm, $6.

We are back from tour, thanks to everyone that organized events and came to screenings. We had much fun, ate some good cake, and conspired with some amazing folks! In horribly un-shocking news, have you seen what the TX House is up to now? They have just OKed a bill that will mandate schools that spend money of “LGBT education” to have equal funding available to “family and traditional values” education as if public education is not already “family and traditional values” education (AKA hetero-settler-colonial-realness) . In better news, the first ever Houston Anarchist Book Fair will be the weekend of April  23-24 and they will be screening Homotopia around 8pm on Saturday the 23, 2011 check it out if you are in TX.

We are out in the world showing Criminal Queers and Homotopia, meeting some nice people and eating some amazing cake ! Check out the update from Chris’ blog here. Tomorrow we are off to Queen’s University in Kingston, ON, then we end Monday night with our friends in Ottawa.

We will be kicking off Wesleyan’s gay month of April! The screening will be at 7pm on Thursday March 31, 2011 at Shanklin 107 and is free, free, free. More info about the event is here.

The free screening will be on Monday April 4, 2001  at 7PM in the Agora of the University Centre (UCU) on the University of Ottawa campus.
